The recorder has stereo mode of sound output. It provides you with Virtual surround mode along with Dolby Digital and DTS digital output for enhanced sound effects. It features On-screen display, progressive scanning, JPEG photo playback, slow motion mode, simultaneous recording and playback.
To make your life easier, you can also operate it from an infrared remote included with the recorder. The power required to operate this device is AC 230 V with 50 Hz frequency. It consumes 25 watts when in use and 4.5 watts in the standby mode. The wonderful DVD recorder allows for DVD-R playback and recording, DVD-RW playback and recording and it comes with a DTS decoder.
The Toshiba D-R160 DVD Recorder, however, does not support Blu ray playback and recording, DVB-c, DVB-S, DVB-T, DVD audio playback, DVD+R playback and recording, DVD+RW playback and recording, DVD-RAM playback and recording, DVI interface and DivX playback. It also does not support HD-DVD playback and recording, HDMI interface, HDTV, IPTV, integrated VCR, MP3 recording, MPEG4 recording, PCMCIA interface, super audio CD playback and super video CD and video CD playback. It is not compatible with USB interface.
